After completing this section, you should be able to:

  • draw a parabola in a vertex form such as \( y=(x-2)^2+1 \)
  • draw a parabola in intercept form such as \( y=(x-1)(x+2) \)
  • draw a parabola by determining \(x\)-intercept and \(y\)-intercept
  • draw a parabola by determining the axis of symmetry \( x=-\displaystyle \frac{b}{2a} \)
  • form a quadratic expression of the parabola from its graph
  • solve practical questions using quadratic graphs
